Posted on Sat, 18 Jun 2016
Question: Hi I had unprotected sex on Mar 20th 2016 and took ipill in 2 hours. I got my 4 day bleeding ( I assume it was period) from April 3 Rd 2016 but bleeding was light. I had my period on Mar 12 to Mar 15 2016. As per period calculator app I should have had my period by April 27th but nothing yet! Should I be worried?

Brief Answer:
Urine pregnancy test advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
It is very common to have delayed periods after ipill intake and that can persist in irregular fashion for 2-3 months also.
Just do a urine pregnancy test and see the result.
In case negative then nothing to worry and wait for at least a week for your periods.
In case you don't get periods by a week then I will give you medicine to have them.
But all in all I feel chances of pregnancy are minimal and the delay is just because of ipill.
Take care
Regards

Brief Answer:
Norethisterone advised

Detailed Answer:
Take tablet norethisterone 5 mg three times a day for 3 days and after leaving the same you will get periods in 3-5 days.
And from next cycle onwards use a regular method of contraception and avoid emergency pill intake.
