Question: Hi..I am 7 days late with my period.I took 5 pregnancy tests in the morning and all were negative. It is highly unusal for me to miss a period. We had unprotected sex on day 15 of my cycle. Also I'm currently breastfeeding but supplement with formula.I don't "feel"pregnant.I also had a c section 8 month ago.Today I started feeling sharp pains on and off on my lower left side of abdominal. Any idea what could be going on?

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.

The delay in periods that you have could be due to breast feeding, anxiety or a minor hormonal disturbance. Since all the pregnancy tests are negative, pregnancy is ruled out.

The intermittent sharp pains in the lower left abdomen can be due to an intestinal colic or muscular pain or a urinary infection. In case the pain is persistent then do consult your physician for an evaluation.

Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.

Wishing you good health.
