What Causes Delay In Menstruation?

Question: My friend have a regular period upto last month,she has last period started on 30 th sept 14 and expected to be on 28th oct. but still now she has any sign of bleeding...she has taken Primolut N from 30 th Oct for 3 days...still she has not any bleeding....what should she do.? What medicine she should take to start her period.

Thanks for posting your query.
After taking Primolut-N for three days it takes 3-4 days for the bleeding to start. It is better to continue taking Primolut for five days and after you stop taking it, there will be a withdrawal bleeding in next 3-5 days.
In case still there is no bleeding then it is best to rule out pregnancy using test kit available at all the pharmacies.
Other causes like stress, anxiety , change in diet and environment or hormonal changes can also cause a delay in periods. If there is no withdrawal bleeding in next 5 days then do consult a gynecologist for investigations to find out the cause and further treatment.
