What Causes Delay In Menstruation?

I am currently 10 days late for my period. I have a pretty normal cycle minus a day or two on occasion. I took a pregnancy test on my4th and 7th day late, with a negative result. Could I still be pregnant? I am 26, healthy/normal, and not under any unusual stress or medications. I am currently sexually active, and my husband and I don't use any birth control other than the withdrawal method. When, or should i retest, or should i seek out a blood test with my local doctor?
You can wait for one week more.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
If the urine pregnancy test is negative at 7 days overdue then you are not pregnant. The delay in periods is likely to be due to stress and anxiety or changes in the environmental factors. Sudden exercise, travelling or change in diet can also cause a delay. There is no need to go for a blood test right now. You can wait for a week more and in case the periods still do not come then get the hormonal tablets prescribed for a withdrawal bleeding.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.

I haven't had any changes in my daily life...I am lucky enough to work part-time from home (with no kids) and haven't traveled recently or exercised excessively...so I actually have a pretty stress free awesome daily routine.
Is there any chance at all I could have conceived later in my cycle and be pregnant?
Pregnancy less likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Delayed conception is less likely with a history of regular cycles. Still the urine test comes positive 10-12 days after the last intercourse. It is best to wait for now and repeat a urine test after a week if the periods still do not come.
Hope my answer is helpful.
