What Causes Delayed Menstruation Post Intake Of I-pill?

Question: Hello Doctor,

My girlfriend had sex with me, i did not ejaculated inside her, but i saw pre-ejaculation on my penis so for security she took ipill. She got withdrawal bleeding after 7 days. And after 30 days or something she got her periods. Now this is second month she haven't got her periods yet, am afraid is she pregnant ? why her periods are not coming please help us doctor.

1. as i remember we had sex on her 6th or 7th day of her periods, i think 30th was her date.

2. Her cycle is usually irregular, duration is 30 days.

3. as i mentioned in 1st point, we had sex on 7th day of her period, actually i din even inserted nor ejaculated, i saw pre-cum so i stopped doing, we had doubt so she took ipill with half n hour. After 8 days she got periods and i came to know that its a withdrawal bleeding and it lasted only for 3 days. Next month she got her periods on the date when she got her withdrawal bleeding ( actually i don't remember the date ) but i think exactly after 30 days she got periods after taking ipill. This is the second month doctor and she haven't got her periods yet its almost 10 days. Please help doctor please

Thanks for updated information.

1) You did SAFE sex and she took I-Pill within half an hour. In this case, she has NO chance of pregnancy.

2) She got withdrawal bleeding after 8 days. It is quite common and physiologic phenomena. Most women get this type of bleeding.

3) Period may be delayed for 1 to 2 weeks for next 1-3 cycles due to hormonal imbalance (effect of pill) and associated mental stress. I suggest her to await another 4-5 days to get her period naturally. Be stress free.

4) If period doesn't occur by this time, she may need to take progesterone pill like Norethisterone for 3 to 5 days to induce period. You should consult with your local doctor for complete prescription.

Thank you Doctor, doctor what is meant by induce period ? is it safe by taking progesterone ! or can we buy it directly from medical store without prescription.

1) Induce period means starting of period by taking hormonal pill. Progesterone pill (Norethisterone) is quite safe to induce period.
