What Causes Delayed Menstruation While On Cabergoline For PCOD?
Question: dear doctor,
I am on 56 days of my cycle but my pregnancy test ( both HPT and beta HCG) are negative. Am a known PCOD case and only my prolactin ( 36 ng/ml) levels are high.I have been prescribed with cabergolin once a week for the same. My thyroid profile is normal. the prolactin test as of today shows 1.03 ng/ml. Kindly guide me as to what the problem can be and a possible solution.

Thank you for your answer doctor. I was given siphene for this cycle . what are the chances of ovulation not occurring despite taking siphene? i had my ovulation cramps on the17 th day of my cycle. Also i had some exertion and experienced a drop of blood and little brown discharge for few hours. will this affect my chances of pregnancy.
Brief Answer:
It may affect your chances of pregnancy.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, Welcome back to HCM.
Sorry such a long delay in my response.
If you are on siphene it may depend upon siphene doses and for how long you are taking it because in PCOD patient it may take time to regulate the cycle and ovulation on siphene .
Sometimes 6 months cycle therapy important.
Yes,stress may decrease your chances of pregnancy but it is not necessarily.
Hope found useful.
Good luck.
