What Causes Delayed Periods After Taking Femilon?
Question: Hi, I am 38yrs old. I started my 1st pack of Femilon (21 day pack) on 1st day of my cycle i.e. 26th Aug. I did not miss any tablet. The tablets ended on 15th Sep. TOday is the 19th Sep and I still have not got my periods. I will surely do a pregnancy test at home but am a little worried as I have never had delayed periods. Please advice if and when do I visit a doc.

It MIGHT take 7 days for your periods to come sometimes due to contraceptive pills which can delay or cause irregular periods so I advise you to wait till 22nd september.
If it still does not come then you can do a pregnancy test at home and then let me know.

Many thanks for your advice doc. I have a question. In that case do I normally start my 2nd strip of Femilon? Or now the date of Femilon will be 5th day of my cycle (if at all I get it by 22nd)?

You start it after you get your periods.
If you do not get by 22nd then you confirm FIRST that you are not pregnant and then start the 2nd strip.

I thought of informing you that I had got my periods late last evening (i.e. 21st Sep). The flow is very less though. My general cramps are also not there. Hope this is normal.
My further query is when should I start with my 2nd pack on Femilon? Should it be tomorrow as it will be the 8th day tomorrow (23rd Sep)?
Hope all is normal now. Do I still need to take a pregnancy test?
