What Causes Delayed Periods After Taking I-pill?
Question: Hi ,
I was unfortunate enough to have to resort to taking a dose of emergency contraception aprroxiamately 3 weeks ago , 3days after administration I developed all the normal symptoms of a regular period tender breasts and I bleed and clotted for a further 3 days . ( the week before inter course I had just finished my period )
My concern now is that it has come time for my regular period to occur and it hasn't , I have taken two pregnancy tests both confirmed to be negative ... Should this all cause for concern ? Was the bleeding I experienced my period and now I have to wait for the next menstural cycle to run its course ?
Please help ... im making myself sick from worrying ... ( ordinarily my periods are like clockwork 20-22 day cycle - currently on no form of contraception )
Kind regards .

Brief Answer:
Wait for your menses.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
This bleeding is a side effect of I- pill and delayed menses due to side effects of I -pill.
So do not take any stress,as the chances of pregnancy are quite low in your case( practically not there).
So wait and watch for your menses.
Hope found useful, feel free to discuss more information.
Good luck.
