What Causes Delayed Periods Despite Having Norethisterone?

Question: I took norethisterone for two weeks and have been off it for 5 days now but still no period and somehow gained 7lb in weight during the two weeks. I have also been feeling sick with nausea since returning from the holiday. I am not pregnant but where is my period?.. Will this affect my ability to conceive?..
Brief Answer:
wait for at least 10 days
Detailed Answer:
hello,
thanks for contacting health care magic
If you have been of primolut or norethisterone since two weeks taken with an intention of delaying your menses, then you must wait for atleast 10 days before menses can resume natural in form of withdrawal bleed, if pregnancy has been ruled out. I suggest wait and dont get anxious if your previous menses have been regular.

I have just found out I am 3+ weeks pregnant after doing another test today. Therefore it would mean i was pregnant before taking these tablets. I took a total of 60 over 18 days. What impact will this have on the baby?...
Brief Answer:
primolut is a hormoane and safe as its pregnancy supporting hormone
Detailed Answer:
hello,
well firstly congratulations.
PRIMOLUT is a progesterone and hence should be causing any birth defects but there are cases that have reported missed abortions or no cardiac activity by 7 weeks period. So , as such there are no studies which have documented congenital anomalies due to primolut. So, it s better to wait for a dating USG scan till 6-7 weeks and if cardiac activity arrives , then unlikely that fetus is affected.
