Question: I have a dent that looks like a whole in my leg. It is on the right side of the shin bone 3 inches above the ankle

Dopplers veins ultrasound should be done.

Such dent seems to be caused by long term compression of this area. Please try to compress the skin below this dent for a while and see if this leaves another dent.
If yes, swelling due to veins insufficiency (usually one limb is more swelled than other), heart insufficiency, kidneys problem (both legs are equally swelled) can be the case.
I suggest you to start with Dopplers veins ultrasound.
