What Causes Depression, Excessive Sweating, Insomnia And Insomnia While Having Mirena?
Question: I've had a Mirena coil out on Monday after two years. Side affects were horrid, depression, craving sweet stuff and alcohol, excessive sweating, insomnia, weight gain, mood swings, pigmentation changes to skin, change in hair curly gone pols straight, weight gain and inability to lose weight even when I dropped to 500 calories a day for four days. Doc reduced anti depressants sertraline to 50g aswell. Found an article on how to avoid Mirena crash so have focused on that this week and also keeping calories to 1200. How quickly could I start losing weight?
Brief Answer:
One month
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns about weight loss.
Weight loss generally takes about a month for effects to be observed. One week is a very short time.
Initial part of weight loss is just water loss which needs to be settled and replaced. One month is the time needed to see actual improvements in weight loss.
Try to exercise simultaneously for quicker weight loss.
Let me know if you need any more help.

Even though i have exercised and watched calories, i have put on three pounds this week. This is not a generic weight loss question but more about the after effects of the mirena. Can i expect to keep putting on weight?
Brief Answer:
Nothing to do with mirena
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Your weight gain has nothing to do with more a removal as more a secretes small amounts of progesterone hormone which is not there now.
This should not make such a big difference in weight gain.
It is more to do with increased calorie intake and reducing exercise.
If you have started exercise and diet regularly you can see effects only after a month.
Let me know if you need any more clarification.
