What Causes Developmental Delay In A Child?

My 15 month old daughter cannot stand unsupported or walk. She does, however, cruise furniture and crawl. Her paediatrician says she will when she is ready but I am concerned because in the states she would have gone for PT at this point but we are in Canada now and the system is totally different. I want to know what I should be doing and what the problem is. Help?!
Cheers
Early intervention is essential

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic
I have gone carefully through the details and understand your concerns. I do not think that your pediatrician has been able to guide you correctly. You can see that your child has developmental delay in gross motor milestones. The other developmental milestones like fine motor, social and cognitive parameters also need proper assessment. Based on the developmental age of the child proper interventions are essential. Early identification followed by early interventional therapy is required for favorable outcome. In Canada you can access Early intervention programs. The following links should be helpful for you in this regard:

Hope that helps.
