What Causes Diarrhea After Using Gatifloxacin-Prednisolone-Ketorolac Eye Drops?

Question: I had cataract surgery (one in January and the follow up in February). I have been on a combination eye drop beginning in January up until a week ago March 13. The drop isPrednisolone-Gatifloxacin-Ketorolac. I have had diarrhea off and on throughout. Quite drop, as I said a week ago, and still have diahrea. Is this due to the drops. Before the surgery I was fine in that situation.
Brief Answer:
Diarrhea is not likely due to the drops.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The cataract surgery and the eye drops are not the cause of diarrhea. The stress of surgery can cause diarrhea by triggering irritable bowel syndrome. Please be advised to follow a diet rich in fiber like oat, XXXXXXX and fruits, avoid dairy and fatty fried food, avoid alcohol, carbonated drinks and caffeine. Also, avoid using artificial sweeteners. You can also take over the counter Loperamide (Imodium) to control diarrhea. If diarrhea still persists, follow up with your primary provider.
Hope this answers your question.
