What Causes Diarrhea And Nausea While On Plan B?
Question: Hello, I have been on Lessina birth control pills for 15 years. I have never had unwanted pregnancy. I take my pill daily at the same time give or take an hour or two. I am not on any antibiotics or having any nausea or diarrhea. Last night, my boyfriend ejaculated inside of me during sex. Normally, he pulls out. I am considering getting Plan B to prevent pregnancy for extra peace of mind. Is this necessary?
Brief Answer:
No need for plan B.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
You are taking your pill regularly without missing a pill. You are protected against pregnancy. Even if your boy friend has ejaculated inside there is no need to worry. Pregnancy is not likely. There is no need to take Plan B. Too high dose of hormonal pills can affect your cycle.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

Thank you for your response. I am on day 14 of my current pill pack. I normally have a 28 day cycle and I am aware that normal ovulation for me would occur around day 14. However, if I am understanding how the pill works, it should prevent ovulation and thicken cervical mucous to prevent pregnancy. Therefore, no ovum=nothing to fertilize. Am I correct?
Brief Answer:
No ovulation should be there.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Yes. Your understanding is correct. There should not be any ovulation to cause a conception.
