What Causes Diarrhea And Stomach Cramps After Using Amoxicillin?

Question: I have taken amoxicillin For bladder infection my pills are gone now. I,m having been a lot of loose stools, and stomach and intentional cramps. I,m taking pills now of diphen/atrop 2.5 mg. the pills help, been on them 3days now. I did not take them last night ,had to take them again, because of cramps again. These are for intestinal. Spelling up above was incorrect. The amoxicillin clav 500mg or augmentin generic. Guest ion is can the amoxicillin cause these systems of diarrhea for a month, afterwards. If so according to my effects sheet is this so. Please reply. My YYYY@YYYY is my email. Thank you.

Yes amoxicillin is known to cause diarrhea. It can be either an antibiotic associated diarrhea or c.diff induced diarrhea.

Yes it can occur even as late as 8 weeks after discontinuing the antibiotics.

Get a stool test done to rule out c.diff infection.

Do not take amoxicillin.
Take metronidazole and probiotics for relief.
