What Causes Diarrhea And Vomiting After A Fall?
Question: My 14 month old son fell out of our stroller and hit his head in the pavement. There is a slight bruise and bump. He fell asleep shortly after and woke up acting like he didn't feel well. He had diarrhea that morning (before the fall) and then 11 hours after the fall he vomited. He woke up again this morning with diarrhea (24 hours after the fall) and just vomited again for the 2nd time approximately 27 hours after the fall. Is this likely a virus that happened to occur near the fall or a symptom of a head injury?
Brief Answer:
Might be concussion
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.
It is really difficult to comment on the above issue without actually watching the child.
If the fall is from less than 2 feet there is nothing to worry.
But if there is abnormal behaviour, twicthes, unequal pupil size, falls asleep after injury which is not his sleeping time it can be concussion.
Concussion means the brain is shaken up.

The fall was from around 2 ft I would guess. It was a typical time for him to go to sleep, in fact I expected him to fall asleep on our walk. He didn't cry much but did immediately want to go to sleep . I haven't noticed any changes. In eye movement or pupil size. He has been fussy and lethargic but not different than he would be when sick. He hasn't wanted to eat. My only option today is to take him to an ER 45 minutes away, I don't mind doing that. I'm just not sure if I am worrying too much, I just don't want to overlook a potential head injury. I am also not sure what they can do for him other than rest regardless. Thank you for your help!

Doctors can advised you the ct scan of head if they find some problem or just to be sure whether there is any injury to brain.
As he is doing his routine activities normally , you need not to worry.
