What Causes Diarrhea Despite Being On Metrogyl?
Question: Hello,
I am having loose motions (3-4 times per day) for three days. I started taking Metrogyl 400 3 times a days since yesterday. After the evening (3rd dose) my loose motion converted to watery and more frequent. I don't have stomach pain or vomiting but my stomach now feels like burning inside. Should I stop Metrogyl 400 and take some other medicine. Please advise

Hello,
You probably seem to experience the side effects of Metrogyl. Please stop the medication.
At this point of time, I generally prescribe oral medications of Pantoprazole plus domperidone combination along with Loperamide to my patients with such symptoms.
Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these medications to improve your symptoms.
Maintain adequate hydration. Avoid fried and fatty foodstuff.

shouldn't I take some other antibiotic like norflox-tz? I don't have nausea or vomiting, should I still take domperidone?

Other Antibiotics are not required now. Norflox TZ also belongs to Metronidazole kind of medication.
So same side effects may be expected. Also, there is no further need for antibiotics as the Infection might have been controlled by metronidazole alone.
Domperidone is required as you are currently experiencing Gastritis which can later cause nausea or Vomiting. Hence on the precautionary basis, it's advisable.
