What Causes Diastolic Dysfunction?

My Father had a vertigo with sweat. He is 71 Years old. His friend suggested ECG. I also went for Echo. Doctor said ECG is normal. However I got the Echo report also now and I am attaching the same. One point I Noted in the Echo report is Grade 1 Diastolic Dysfunction. Shall I worry about that. What is the remedy for the same. I am attaching the result. Please have a look and please suggest if this is normal or some action needs to be taken
It's normal to have at 71 years of age . No treatment required
Detailed Answer:
Hello ,
Diastolic dysfunction is due to impaired relaxation of the heart . Type 1 is the mildest form. It's age related increase in stiffness of the heart muscle and it's pretty normal to have at your father's age . More than 70 % of people at your father's age would have that on echo .
So be rest assured you need not worry about the same and no further evaluation is needed for the same .
No treatment is required for the same . If he is hypertensive than good control of the blood pressure will help.
For vertigo and sweating , check his blood pressure , sugar and diabetic status . If he is active consider treadmill stress test

Treadmill test is also for Heart if I am not wrong. So as you are saying that Echo is normal considering my father age and as I already mentioned that ECG was also normal, are you still suspecting that heart needs to be further evaluated
Also in the report that I shared , does everything else also looks fine
The rest of the Echo is within normal range for his age
Detailed Answer:
Hello ,
Yes TMT is for the heart .
ECG and Echocardiography both are done at rest , it mean's that the heart at that point of time was at rest .
These tests show any abnormalities only after damage to the heart has occurred . They don't predict an underlying blockage , while TMT is a non invasive means of straining the heart to see its strong enough to supply enough blood to the body even during any period of stress ( here exercise ) and hence helps us identify the blockages which in future can cause heart problems .
You are very much justified that 71 years of age one would not want to evaluate further without certainty and I am in complete agreement with you on that matter . However as a doctor it's my duty to guide you .
The rest of echo is pretty much normal for his age .
