Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
You are taking Aginal-AT 5/50 mg once a day to control BP. It has help to lower systolic BP but he has been ineffective on controlling diastolic BP. Please keep in mind that the most effective treatment in the controlling of diastolic BP are diuretics and ACE-i (I will disccus more when I will answer the question 3).
Now let me answer all your questions:
1. Since you are a vegetarian you aren't eating oily thing and this is a good start. The problem with vegetarian diet isn't what you consume but what is missing on your diet. It's important to know that you should eat the right amount of electrolytes, vitamins and cofactors (especially potassium, calcium, magnesium, CoQ 10) on your diet. Most of the above mentioned (vitamins and electrolyte) are taken from animal products (like Diary products).
This is why I strongly recommend to take food supplements like:
- OMEGA 3 Fish oil,
- Multivitamins reach in potassium, Magnesium and Calcium
- Co Q 10 enzyme
This supplements will help you to control Diastolic BP.
2. The reason for high diastolic readings is related to the following factors:
- Metabolic conditions and obesity ( especially if you are a prediabetic person)
- Sedentary life style
- Smoking
- Alcohol consumption
- anxiety and stress
Managing these contributing factor will help to stabilize diastolic BP.
3. As I said the best preparation who are effective in controlling diastolic BP are Tiazidic diuretics (water pills like hydrochlortiazide) and ACE-i/ARB (like Ramipril, Losartan). If you were my patient I would have added hydrochlortiazide to your therapy. This will help to proper control both systolic and diastolic BP.
4. The most common side effects of Aginal AT are:
- Leg swelling
- Weigh gain
- Dizziness
- Dyspnea
5. As I said above you should take food supplements (electrolyte and vitamins), reduce weight and add Hydrochlortiazide on your treatment to control diastolic BP.
Moreover you should follow the following suggestions:
- Exercise regularly on a daily basis (this will help to loose weigh and to control anxiety)
- Avoid unnecessary stress (known stressful situation)
- Increase recreational activities (swiming, dancing etc.)
- Reduce alcohol to less than a glass of wine per day.
- Start practicing yoga or other relaxing breathing techniques.
Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
Since I work in an European country it's hard for me to recommend a product abroad.
I would like to say that Omega 3 fish oil and CoQ 10 can be found at any local drug store and you should ask your pharmacist about.
It's important to take 1000 -1200 mg of omega 3 fish oil per day (no matter the brand name).
Moreover you should take also the following tablets:
- 180 mg (2 pills) of CoQ 10 factor
- 350 mg of Magnesium B6 (1 pill per day)
- Low fat natural milk (which is reach in calcium) 200 ml per day.
hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!
