Swallowing problems after cervical spine damage and whiplash may be caused by retropharyngeal swelling and compression of esophagus.
Immobilization of the neck with a collar is necessary to reduce movements and swelling.
NSAID drugs, Corticosteroids like Methylprednisolone may be necessary to be used in order to improve your symptoms.
