Brief Answer:
Get a spirometry done and consult a pulmonologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for posting your query on HCM.

I would like to know if you have any allergies like do you feel uncomfortable in dust and smoke? Is there any cough? Since this is the first time you are having this problem it's better to consult a pulmonologist who can examine you and get a spirometry done because this can be indicative of asthma or something else.

But let me also tell you that sometime it may just be a feeling. A person just feels that he is unable to breathe. If so it's only a temporary thing and should pass soon. However if it persists do as I have said above.
