What Causes Difficulty In Urination After Removing Catheter?

Question: I just had a catheter removed this morning after having it in for over a week. I am male. Now I want to pee and after a couple of hours, I still can not pee. Do you have any helpful suggestions, as to how I can get it started, I am drinking a lot of water.
I meant that it is now 11:00 a.m., the same day.
When will I hear from you?

Brief Answer:
Hot compress on lower abdomen may help you pass urine
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. A catheter should be removed after clamping i.e. after giving trials allowing the bladder to fill. I assume that no such trial has been given in your case. In such a scenario I would insist you to try applying hot compress over your lower abdomen and to keep water running so that the sound stimulates you to pass urine.
If all these do not help in resolution of the issue you might need to visit the hospital and get recatheterized.
Let me know if I could help further.

Thank you, Doctor Saha--
Thank God, I was able to pee a few hours ago a few times. I think that I am good. I will remember the hot compresses, however, and the running water.
