What Causes Difficulty Sleeping After Excessive Caffeine Intake?
milk, water, laxative; avoid sweet, keep company
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
All the problems you are currently having are suggestive of caffeine overdose. You have took more than your body is accustomed to.
The drug you took didnt help, so there is no point in repeating it.
This is not like an emergency as for now as your breathing is not very disturbed and its been some time ..and symptoms are reducing.
You can try following measures to get rid of the caffeine from your body fast/ prevent more caffeine entering your blood stream:-
1. You can try taking some laxative which you have ..
2. Take more water, or raw milk : thisbwill help flush caffeine out..
3. Eat more salad- carrots if possible and chew them good
4. If you want to sleep - a benzodiazepine can help- like- clonazepam 0.5mg.
5. Keep in touch with someone trusting till you start feeling good..the effects are supposed to wean off with time..
6. Avoid sweet stuffs (fruits..)
Its difficult to do anything which distracts you compeltely from your feelings right now but staying in company brings some relief.
Its not much recommended to take an antacid or anti nauseating drug in such cases, but you may try- rabeprazole with domperidone combination..
Raise head end of the bed (keeping a XXXXXXX or two under head end) or using a big pillow helps nausea and refulx to some extent when you lie down.
So, there are options as above which can be practiced at home apart from going to ER- (if you are more breathless...or there is some confusion or abnormal movements coming up).
Stay with someone and call emergency if any symptom increase. However, at present it looks you should be good in few hours- it does take some time....
Have a speedy recovery !
