What Causes Discharge From Nipples In An Elderly Person?
Question: I had some nipple discharge from both nipples I am 53 years old . Went to get mammogram and ultrasound of breasts and results were fine. When I woke up this morning there was some crustiness around my nipple and what looked like dry skin . should I have further testing?

Since the mammogram and ultrasound are normal there are 2 possible causes.
1. a possible infection. to this end get a culture of the secretions. if there is a infection culture sensitivity report will help treat the infection.
2. a possible hormonal change. This needs extensive testing which cannot be guided online. So I would suggest that if the culture report shows no growth meet with a endocrinologist.

Should I be worried about Paget's disease I understand ultrasound and mammogram don't always find it!
