What Causes Discomfort And Burning Sensation In Abdomen Post Hernia Surgery?

Question: I had an infection after failed sigmoid resection; hernia repair 8.3cm. During the SPECT would the films pick up the area the colon was removed (near navel) and under the mesh as there is a lot of moving which causes burning or a raw feeling. And, the area the colon was removed is painful and, when evacuating, there is a pull. The surgeon admitted failure; we're trying to find out just what failed.

Hello,

Probably there is persistent infection at the operated site. SPECT should detect the involved area.
But SPECT combined with CT scan is ideal in this situation.
Infection is one of the commonest complications of operation.
Surgical failure may be due to many reasons like infection, mass that can't be resected due to huge involvement etc.

It is important to know pre-operative findings. So, if you can please upload the pre-operative findings, I will be able to explain more.
