Brief Answer:
Culture and sensitivity required for urine and penile discharge

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr. XXXX,

Welcome to health care magic.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concern as you are not responding to the antibiotics prescribed.

I suggest you undergo culture and sensitivity testing for your urine sample and penile discharge, if any.

This will help determine the pathogen causing infection and also the antibiotic which is most effective for that bacteria.

Prostatitis can lead to recurrent urinary tract infections which typically presents with discomfort and pain during passage of urine.

You have to get a prescription for appropriate antibiotics based on the test results for another 10-12 days.

Few more tips you can follow:

1. You can take over the counter painkillers for the discomfort.
2. Keep the genital area clean.
3. Take plenty of fluids to flush out bacteria causing infection.
4. Fluids will also avoid constipation which can increase your discomfort.
5. Avoid alcohol, coffee and spicy foods which can worsen your symptoms.

I hope I have helped you with this answer.

Please get back if any more queries.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Repeat culture as you are not responding to prescribed antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr.Captainruss,

Welcome back.

Apologies for the late response.

I suggest you repeat the culture and sensitivity test as you are not responding to the prescribed antibiotics.

Stimulation of nerves in the prostate gland occurs in prostatitis which may cause pain in the penis, one or both testicles, the lower stomach, the low back, the scrotum and the anus.

You can take over the counter painkillers for that pain.

You have to get the infection in the prostrate controlled as soon as possible to prevent complications.

Please get a repeat culture sensitivity test done and get appropriate antibiotics.

Also follow the lifestyle tips I have suggested in my previous reply for a faster recovery.

I would also like to know details regarding tests you have undergone and it would be great if you could upload the results on the link provided on our webpage.

Please get back if any more doubts.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Might require a stronger broad spectrum antibiotic

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr. XXXX,

Welcome back.

I am glad to know that your test results are normal. But your infection is not effectively responding to levofloxacin.

I suggest you get back to your treating doctor and get your antibiotic sensitivity report reviewed to find a better and stronger antibiotic to control your infection.

Your symptoms are suggestive of prostatitis which needs to be treated as soon as possible.

I hope I have been able to clear your doubts.

Please do not hesitate to get back if any more queries.

Wishing you a fast recovery.

Thanks
