Question: my new pain managent has reduced my Norco to 3 daily rather than 120 a month and added morphine. My original pain doctor had me on 180 Norco. I am worried that morphine is worse than norco. Now the doctor reduced the Norco to 90 a month and 90 a month for morphine. I have found it difficult to reduce the Norco that much. I would prefer more Norco rather than adding morphine. My original pain doctor retired. What do you think on the pain medicine change. I don't agree with him and I have told him I am scared of the morphine but he has left me no choice. Now I have to take the morphine because of the huge reduction of Norco. I have been on Norco for 5 years and was doing well with 180 a month which always left me with extra at the end of each month. Now it scares me that I will run out of Norco and am forced to take morphine.
Brief Answer:
Norco and morphine are from same family of opiod
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case.
Norco and morphine are from same family of opiod medication. So they have same tendency of dependence.
As you have taken Norco for 5 years he wants to reduce dependence by shifting to morphine.
But keep in mind that morphine is opiod and will lead to dependence.
You can take neurotropics like methylcobalamine with pregabalin for disc pain.
Many of my patients get relief by yoga pranayama and XXXXXXX XXXXXXX so you can also due that.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
