I can understand your concern.
Discomfort in ears while swallowing, suggest problem in eustachian tube.
This is anatomical canal between inner ear and posterior pharyngeal wall. It's main function is to regulate pressure changes in inner ear.
So discomfort in ear while swallowing suggest problem in eustachian tube.
Narrowing of tube lumen through any causes like infection, Inflammation or irritation causes popping sensation in the ears.
So better to consult ENT doctor and get done thorough endoscopic examination of ears and pharynx to rule out infection, inflammation or irritation.
