What Causes Discomfort In Scalp Along With Headaches And Anxiety?

default
Posted on Tue, 14 Jul 2015
Question: I have developed a tight feeling on my scalp, like I need to scratch it. It is not dandruff or anything that can be relieved like that, but something deeper in the skin. I also am feeling anxious more than before. I tend to be an anxious person, but it is worse than usual. I have been having headaches, and have been doing yoga, massage, exercise. Lorazapam seems to help the anxiety, but I have been cautioned about the cahnce of addiction with regular use so break a tablet in small pieces. Also having difficulty sleeping. I read up on anxiety disorder and find some commonality there.

Brief Answer:
Its seems to be an anxiety disorder

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
This is a disorder of anxiety and occurs cause of imbalance of certain neurotransmitters in the brain. especially serotonin, nor adrenaline, and dopamine to some extent. Medicines are the best options to take care of these symptoms. Paroxetine is the the most popular medicine and my drug of choice. I generally prescribe my patients 12.5 mg per day at night which takes care of anxiety symptoms. Also certain medicines like propranolol and clonazepam can be give as required when there is an exacerbation of symptoms.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.

are the medications you recommend addicting? Will I ever be able to get off the medicines? I don't tolerate medications very well and have to take a low dose. should I discontinue the Lorazapam?

Brief Answer:
Not actually

Detailed Answer:
Hello
The medicines that I have started are safe. If they are taken as prescribed, then you will not have any addiction problem. Lorazepam in the dose of 0.5mg can be stopped abruptly without any problem.
Hope this helps
Kind regards
