What Causes Dizziness Accompanied Nausea?

default
Posted on Thu, 18 Dec 2014
Question: My wife suddenly got tired and a bit dizzy twice in 2 days; accompanied by slight nausea and a bit more color on her face. After rest she seems fine. She has crones (mild case) and takes faraxiga in addition to other meds for her stomach that are crones related. I am thinking low blood sugar but she drinks plenty of liquids and just finished a meal. Any ideas? Thanks!

Brief Answer:
To rule out possibility of Postural Hypotension

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Sir

Based on the description of symptoms possibility of Postural Hypotension needs to be considered and rules out.
Post prandial (after food ) dizziness and weakness is most likely to be related to Hypotension. Following intake of meals there is alteration in intravascular volume causing hypotension in certain individual.

I would suggest you the following

1. A thorough physical examination from your Primary care physician

2. Measurement of blood pressure especially next time she is dizzy

3. Blood sugar estimation : Both Fasting and post prandial . Also getting sugar estimation done by home Glucometer during any further episode of dizziness will conclusively help ruling out Hypoglycemia as cause of symptoms

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take care
