What Causes Dizziness After Drinking Coffee?

default
Posted on Tue, 5 Sep 2017
Question: Hi, yesterday I was starting my day with my normal cup of coffee and a puff of cannabis as I usually do in the A.M. All of a sudden I felt dizzy and unstable. I called out to my partner who was in the shower. I couldn't talk or walk properly, on my right side. It was numb. My partner carried me to my bed where I was unable to move my right side of my body. After a few minutes, the sensation returned to my arms and legs and I was okay. Then it happened again, numbness on my right side. This time the sensation was shorter and I could move around and function. I think it was the cannabis that caused this reaction. I'm fine now. Haven't smoked any since this incident. What do you think happened?

Consultation

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

Smoking marijuana is highly dangerous. It contains chemicals that constrict the blood vessels and may lead to transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) or stroke. I would strongly recommend you visit a primary care physician for an examination, and that you stop using cannabis immediately to prevent further harm.
