Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for asking at healthcaremagic.
I carefully read your question and understand your concern.
The most likely cause of the symptoms developed after eating is an infection that he might have encountered.
It is very important though to specify with what you mean with disoriented, dies he know where he is, what date it is and who he is and who you are (orientation in place, time and person)?
If he is not oriented in time, place and person he will need to se a doctor urgently.
If he is oriented in time, place and person than there is no urgency and you can observe him for 2-3 days. Meanwhile make sure he drinks well, frequent small amount of fluids and eats well also and rests.
Make sure he stands up slowly from lying positions, to avoid risks of fall and head trauma.
If he develops other symptoms like fever, diarrhea, vomiting, rash, or any worsening, or no improvement in the next 3 days, than still it might be related to an infection taken with food but it would be recommended to see a doctor to better evaluate him.
I hope this is helpful and answers to your questions but please feel free to reply and let me know if anymore clarifications is needed on this.
Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj, Md
