What Causes Dizziness And Imbalance?
drug not absolute necessary.exercise.vitals
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I went through the query and understood your concern.
Dizziness may be due to some other cause and not due to your cholesterol levels. I have seen many of my patients with uncontrolled lipid profile with out any complaints. You have only slight variations in lipid profile.
You can continue only atocor instead of atocor f and if the problem is due to drug then you can shift to other same group drug like rosuvastatin or with your cholesterol levels you can control with diet and exercise. So the drug is not mandatory.
Dizziness may be due to side effect of drug or due to low glucose levels or low BP as common causes. So check your vitals and continue exercises daily. If your symptoms started after this drug then the side effect of the drug is one of the possibility and if it persists the needs to be evaluated.
I hope this information helps you to know about the drug and probable cause. Feel free to ask for any further queries. I will be glad to answer them.
Wish you good health and faster recovery.
Regards
Thanks for the reply. If the dizziness that I experience is due to drug that I had taken, then I have stopped it about 2 months ago. Will the after effect or atocor F be there even after two months?
Is this slight imbalance due to ear problem? Should I meet an ENT to get it checked up. But, as far as I have read, most of the ENTs suggest Vertin 8 mg for dizziness. So, if I tried to continue on Vertin 8 mg, then how long should I use it and what is the dosage that I should take in a day?
I have to tell you one more thing. My job is article and blog writing and so I am working on my computer for about 12 hours a day. Is this light headedness and slight pull when I walk due to this?
needs evaluation. Consult physician
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
1. the chance of your drug causing dizziness is minimal as the side effects does not lasts so longer after stopping the drugs.
2. Slight imbalance may be due to inner ear problem or problem in brain (cerebellum). If you have imbalance along with dizziness the better consultant is a physician who will help you to find the cause of the problem by complete central nervous system examination. You may need MRI scan of brain to rule out any problem in brain.
3. Vertin should be take if it is useful. If you are not getting help with this drug then no need to continue. You first need to get examined for the cause.
4. Yes over burden or over stress in front of computer with constant observing can be the cause. Better to take 10-20 min rest at every 1.5 to 2 hour and relax in calm area which will help in relaxation. But I can't confirm whether your problem is due to work stress or any problem in brain / inner ear. So better is to get examined by physician once.
Hope this information helps you and answered your query.
Wish you faster recovery

I did a lipid profile test today after two months of not taking any medicine for cholesterol. It reads as follows: total cholesterol: 218, Triglycerides: 179, HDL: 38.2 and LDL : 144.3.
Please suggest me medications that will bring my triglycerides and LDL down and improve my good cholesterol levels. I seriously feel that the slight imbalance when it walk sometimes or my body moving when sitting down to have food is due to these cholesterol levels.
I am also feeling a bit of burning sensation in my chest are sometimes and sometimes I feel that it is a bit hot. I feel burning sensation when I wear my car seat belt. Is this also due to high cholesterol levels?
Please suggest me medications, its dosage as well as the number of days or months that I should take the medications to be fit again.
I am doing regular exercise for 30 to 40 minutes at least 5 times a week. Inf act, I do aerobic exercises by watching videos like tae-bo cardio and ab exercises. What are the other changes that I need to incorporate?
I am attaching copies of my three lipid profile tests done on 6trh sept, 7th july and 23 may for your perusal.
Thanks,

Continue exercise, statin. diet modifications
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX ,
You need to do regular 30-40 min exercises where in your heart rat raises up to 120/min (you need to sweat a lot). Eat based on your daily requirements. These are the basic requirements. Right now you are doing (exercise) exactly what is required.
Along with this you can take statin group of drug like atorvastation or rosuvastatin 10 mg once daily after consulting your doctor and regular lipid profile checking is required at least once in 6 months. Also check for blood sugar and blood pressure levels.
Hope these answered your concern. Fell free to ask for any queries.
Wish you good health.
Regards
My fasting sugar level is 89.1. My BP a few months ago read 137/84.
What is the reason for the following?
I am also feeling a bit of burning sensation in my chest sometimes and sometimes I feel that it is a bit hot. I feel burning sensation when I wear my car seat belt. Is this also due to high cholesterol levels?
Also, the imbalance part. I do not feel the my head is spinning or sometime. The only problem I feel is I am getting pulled to one side and I do not feel steady when I walk. I feel my legs are puling me away.
Is there any medication for this? Should I try taking Vertin 8 mg or 16 mg for this? If I do so, can I have it with a tablet called Jupiros F that my doctor suggested that contains 10 mg Rosuvastatin calcium and 160 mg Fenofibrate.
How long should I continue this medication and is it advisable to take lipid profile tests every month to see the progress? Can I stop the medications once I reach the optimum levels?

get evaluated. can stop with good life style modif
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
1. The burning sensation is not linked to your blood lipid levels but may be due to subcutaneous fat which may cause burning sensation in hot and humid condition. If the burning sensation is present internally the cause may be due to gastro esophageal reflux.
2. No need for vertin. Better to get checked with MRI BRAIN scan to ruleout any problem in brain and then nerve conduction test once to find the site of any nerve problem that is causing your symptoms.
3. With your life style modifications and with your lipid profile only rosuvastatin may be required with out fibrate. You can stop medications if the lipid profile is normal but should continue lifestyle modifications.
Vertin can be taken with this for short time with no known significant side effects. But better to get investigated for the cause once.
4. I advice my patients to get checked for lipid profile once in 6 months. Since your life style modifications are good check for the values at 3 months and then if normal monitor once in 6 months.
Hope this answered all your questions.
