What Causes Dizziness And Lightheadedness When Suffering From Diabetes?

Question: Husband falls frequently, is often bothered with dizziness, lightheadedness, is diabetic, at times confused. Could this be something for a neurologist? We have a great family doctor for over 30 years, but we have not yet found out what his problem is. Might a Neurologist be the way to go?
Brief Answer:
clinical examination and investigations may help.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, I would advise that you should get him clinically examined and investigated by a Neurophysician.
Following investigations may be helpful :-
1. Blood sugar levels.
2. Kidney Function Test ( KFT ).
3. Serum electrolytes.
4. ECG.
5. CT Scan or MRI of head and neck region.
6. Ambulatory blood pressure recording.
7. Holter monitoring.
I hope this is helpful to you.
If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Regards. Thanks.
