What Causes Dizziness And Lower Abdominal Pain After Having I Pill?
Question: Hi
I've been prescribed Utovlan and was told to take 3 pills a day. But for the past 3 days I've been taking 1 pill or 2 a day.
Does this make the pill ineffective? WIll this affect the duration in which my period is supposed to come? The reason why I took so little is because I think i might be pregnant, but I dont want to take the risk of having a period as I'm now on holidays with my boyfriend.
And it might be too early to tell by Home pregnancy test if I'm positive as the last time we had sex was on 12th January.
I have been having several symptoms such as sore nipples not breasts, itchy and dry skin, nausea, fatigue with dizziness, lower abdominal pain that comes and goes for a few minutes.
I hope to receive your best advice.

Brief Answer:
Stop it
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
If you are planning for pregnancy, then you should completely stop the medication.
the symptoms you have now could be due to the medication itself. Also, there are chances it could be due to pregnancy, I suggest you to keep the hopes and get tested a week after your actual due date.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
Regards,
Stop it

Thank you for the reply.
However, other than those symptoms I have, I also experienced acid reflux, nosebleed, and frequent urination. Are these symptoms due to medication?
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Symptoms could be due to both
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Yes, the symptoms you mention can be seen in both. In fact the side effects caused by Utovlan are similar to those seen in pregnancy.
Norethisterone present in Utovlan is same as progesterone hormone produced in pregnancy. Hence, the symptoms are same.

Hi doctor thank you for the reply.
I have read the leaflet and instructions that came with utovlan. It says that it is rare to get multiple symptoms. Is this true?
and some of my symptoms are not symptoms of taking utovlan.
Regards

Brief Answer:
Leaflet may not contain all
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Need not worry.
The symptoms you are having are not rare.
Leaflet may not mention all the sideeffects it may cause. usually they are subjective, differ from one person to other.
