Question: Hi
I have been tested and tested and tested - Including MRI last month.
All normal.
I am 50 years old - Male
I am experiencing later in the day lightheadedness as well as now slurring my words as well as feeling like I am wearing a mouthpiece on my upper teeth.
I have been dealing with this for the past year.
It is really bad now.
All - ALL my labs are NORMAL.
I was a lab tech in the Army years ago so I have a very basic knowledge of the
Chems, hematology etc,,,
All normal.

Brief Answer:
More information needed about tests and symptoms.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your query and understand your concerns.
When you say all lab tests results were normal, you are referring and lab tests about vitamin B6, B12 levels, toxicology screening about heavy metals intoxication, besides routine blood and biochemistry tests, or these tests haven't been carried out yet?
Also, besides MRI, have you been tested about nerve conduction studies of face and extremities?
Any other symptoms such muscles weakness or fasciculations?
Awaiting for more information.....

Looks like I just deleted a long response.
Typing it again.
To answer your questions
yes - except no nerve tests - I had them done at the Mayo clinic.
To summarize
Vision is totally up and down - like tonight all is very blurry and I am very dizzy and am very light sensitive
dizzy
Slurred speech
Upper teeth are numb
weak and exhausted most of the time - blood sugar is normal
All labs normal except high cholesterol.
bowel and bladder is totally off
numbness in left leg and left hand
MRI - NORMAL
Blood pressure - Very Good - too good as I DO NOT exercise its 110/75
I am dizzy a lot.
I am exhausted most of the time
So.
Let me address the obvious..............
I think I know what this might be
And you?
Don't email me back asking me what I think it is -
Your turn.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
ALS should be evaluated/excluded as a possible diagnosis.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
In my opinion, ALS (Amiotrophic lateral sclerosis) should be considered as a possible diagnosis.
Since this is a virtual consult, it is difficult for me to be sure about such serious diagnosis.
So, I think this possibility and tests needed ( EMG, nerve conduction study ) as well as a neurological examination should be discussed with your Neurologist.
Hope this helps. Best regards.
