What Causes Dizziness, Lightheadedness And Light Sensitivity?
Question: Hi, I'm a diabetic and take insulin, metformin and glipizide...lately, I've been having trouble with an increase of dizziness, lightheadedness and a lot of sensitivity to the sun...I had to come back home today because it was so bright outside that sunglasses wouldn't help the pain in my eyes, which causes me to feel sick to my stomach. They say to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight when taking glipizide...could this be causing the brightness?
Brief Answer:
These are caused by use of Glipizide.

Hello
Welcome to Health care magic
It seems from the history that you are a diabetic and you are on treatment with insulin, metformin and glipizide.
Glipizide is known to cause dizziness, lightheadedness and light sensitivity as a side effect.
If the symptoms are severe you need to consult your doctor for change of the drug as these symptoms are because of use of this drug.
Hence I advice you to consult your physician doctor for prescription of alternative drug to glipizide.
Hope the information is helpful to you.
Thank you
