What Causes Dizziness, Tiredness And Headache When Diagnosed With Hypothyroidism?
Question: Dear sir/madam, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 3 years back. I was having few symptoms like always dizzyness, tiredness, headaxhe and all. So i started visitting the endochronologist. She initially gave me 50 mg thyroxin, then 75 mg and now when i visited her after 1 year, i had my tsh with 44. So she told me to have 125 mg. And this time my fbs was 130. Which earlier always remain under 100. I have doubt that i had 2 icecreams in night around at 11 pm before i went for the tesr early in morning 8 am. Which has elevated my fbs. My endo prescribed me janumet and metling sr, as a medication to loose some fat, she told me its not given u for sugar, but i am really scared that with one result is that ok to have this tablets. Now after 1 month, when i got results yesterday my fbs is 99. And in urine it shows tracc. So my endo told me to comeback after 15 days. She prescribed 1 more drug to remove ketone from urine. I am really panic and this time my thyroid is 25 from 44. So she told me to take 150 mg. I am 117 kg. I am 29 years of age. I want to get normal. When my reports were normal, at that time also i was not feeling good, so how can i get rid of these thyroid symptoms. Thanks, i am really worried about this diabetic treatment, i have questions on that.
Brief Answer:
Basic problem is obesity.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Hi and welcome to HCM. YOU are not realizing but your basic problem is obesity.
For t2dm, you can check your HbA1c, and the medicines can be decided.
For hypothyroidism, TSH is still high because the dose , as per your weight is still low. YOU WILL NEED 150 MCG PER DAY. the tablet needs to be taken empty stomach, early morning.
Now the basic question , how do you plan to manage your weight. dietary plan , exercise schedule? medicines? are you considering bariatric?
must discuss seriously.

Yes madam first of all thanks for the reply. I am going to do hba1c after 7 days by stopping this present medication which my endo prescribed. As far as my weight management matters, i am tired of doing intermittant dieting and exercising, so i have decided to follow crash diet. Since last 10 years i am trying to loose weight, now its high time for me to handle it. Somehow it is creating more issues mentally also. I am becoming under confident, so i feel if i able to reduce by atleast 3 kgs a month, it will really boost my overall happiness. Madam i go for a walk around 5 kms a day. I have attached two pictures of me , which is from 80 kg to 118 kg. Thanks again
Brief Answer:
bariatric is still an option
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX Hi!
you are absolutely correct, diet and exercise have a very drop rate.
medicines do help in limited weight loss.
crash dieting will only help for few days, that too very limited, few kgs.
immediately after stopping the dieting plan, weight will rebound.
so what i suggest is strongly consider bariatric surgery.
let me know your hba1c, once it is with you and secondly repeat TSH and FT4 after 6 weeks of Thyroxine 150 mcg/d
regards!

Thanks again for your reply. Sorry i am not convinced with this option. I was expecting some natural treatment to get rid of this problem like lifestyle changes or exercising. Thanks for your time.
Brief Answer:
life style modification will always remain
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX to disappoint you was not my intention.
i was being honest. but yes definitely yes, life style modification always stands first and stays till last. even after bariatric surgery patients need to follow strict life style modification.
but if you are not convinced, i can give you medicinal options like liraglutide, orlistat, metforfin and a hebal product like garcinia cambogia. these are all FDA approved and can be tried for weight loss. but they all have their limitations.
regards!
