What Causes Dizziness, Weakness And Blackish Stool Post An Upper Endoscopy Test?

Question: I had an upper Endoscopy done 2 days back. I'm currently feeling a bit dizzy and feel a bit of weakness. My stools are blackish. During the endoscopy there was minor scarring, and i did feel warm in my chest a few times over the past few days. Today my chest seems fine. The stools are still blackish though and i still feel weak. Will this resolve on its own? I am taking PPI's and sporacid syrup
Brief Answer:
Hello need to get stool tests done
Detailed Answer:
hello
welcome to HCM
thank you for your query
I understand your concern
well blackish stools may mean presence of altered blood in it especially if it is semisolid with lots of foul smell.
but otherwise some food, medications like iron supplements can also cause stools to be black.
worthwhile getting stool occult blood tested on three different days.
also dizziness may occur because of low hemoglobin if you are loosing blood so also get your hemoglobin checked too.
continue taking ppi as advised also all this may resolve with ppi if bleeding is there from upper part of GI tract.
hope this answers your query
wish you a speedy recovery
