Hi Mr XXXXXXX
Thank you for posting your query.
I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist and would try my best to help you.
I have noted the details of your wife, Mrs Renukumari and also seen the cervical spine X-ray reports.
I agree that there is cervical spondylosis, however, it is not severe. At this stage, she needs good physiotherapy- neck extension exercises.
For dizziness, she can take Vertin tablets as and when necessary.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,

Thank you for getting back. My replies to your new queries are:
1. Yes, as of now, cervical spondylosis seems to be the cause. In some cases, it could be small problem in the ear, called as BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
2. You should consult Neurologist.
3. Physiotherapy is sufficient. No surgery is needed.
4. She would get better with treatment.
5. Vertin is safe, if taken for long time.
Best wishes,

Thank for replying me.
Now to some extent my line of action is clear.
However some symptoms of BPPV is matching with patient. Is there any test for identifying BPPV in patients. .
Can physiotherapy can cure both cervical spondylosis & BPPV.
Is there requirement of medicine for cervical spondylosis or physiotherapy is sufficient for pt conditions
I also think to discuss regarding BPPV to doctor to whom appointment is fixed on 26.09.16.
You may suggest further for early recovery as pt is suffering from vertigo from last 6 months.
With regards
BPPV can be diagnosed by clinical examination
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.
In BPPV, patient has dizziness, which is made worse on head and neck movements, such as while getting up from lying down position, or while turing on ned from side to side, etc. It can be diagnosed by clinical examination by an ENT doctor. It can be treated in ENT clinic by repositioning manoeuvre such as Epley's manoeuvre.
Physiotherapy is helpful in both cervical spondylosis and BPPV. No medicine is generally needed for both these conditions. Some medicines such as vertin may be given as and when needed. Some doctors may prescribe vitamin tablets.
