Possibly orthostatic hypotension to rule out
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
I am sorry for the situation you are in. .
1. Having dizziness when standing up is indicative for orthostatic hypotension. If I was your caring doctor would advise to run further cardiac tests to evaluate the current status of your heart and bloid vessels :
- echocardiogram
- ECG
- stress test
2. Biochemistry blood tests are also advised :
- complete blood count to rule out anemia
- lipid profile
3. Further examination by ophthalmologist and ENT specialist is advised to rule out eyes and inner ear problems.
I am happy that you have been healthy during the 73 years of your life. However, your body is giving some signals that should be taken seriously to understand the cause.
Hope it was of help!

In July I decided to lose weight and have dropped from 260lbs to current 234lbs and I wonder if the weight loss would cause the problem since the dizziness and eye problems have started during this time.
Thanks

Not advised to follow strict losing weight diets...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back XXXXXXX
Thank you for providing additional data.
If I was your caring doctor and taking into account your age, the above mentioned tests are the first to advise.
Taking into account that you have been trying to lose weight recently, and if you are following a strict diet, then, this might explain your dizziness spells too.
The cause could be the lack of glucose supplying your brain and reduction in blood pressure. I advise not to follow a strict diet to lose weight. You should consume your meals regularly, do not miss any. You should eat often, small portions and non high calories meals.
However, if I was your caring doctor, I want to make sure that these problems are really related to your diet reduction programme and not to any serious health problem.
All the best!
