What Causes Double Vision When Having History Of Cataract Surgery?
Recommendation
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,
If the glasses prescription either is not right for you, or was not made correctly in your frames for your pupillary distance, then you can have double vision, blurred vision, and eye strain.
Double vision can be from medical problems too. If the double vision does not entirely resolve after you have had your glasses off and use the old glasses for a short while, then you should go to the ER.
If however, changing back to your old glasses does resolve the problem, I strongly advise you go back to the place where you purchased your glasses. If this is not the same place as you were examined for your prescription then:
1. Ask the technician to check your pupillary distance and compare it with the pupillary distance of the glasses.
2. Ask the technician to read the prescription off of the glasses with the lensometer to make sure it is within acceptable range of what was prescribed for you.
3. If both of these check out ok, then return to see the optometrist or ophthalmologist who examined you and came up with your new prescription.
