What Causes Drastic Weight Loss?

Question: Hi Doctor, I had posted one query to you on Dec 7 2013. My father is suffering from aanv and due to this he is loosing wait. You had suggested to take swarna XXXXXXX malti ras, chyavanprash, katujarishtam and agni tundi vati. Its been 3 months and no improvement could be seen. He is still loosing weight. These medicines seem to be ineffective. He has lost a lot of muscles and feeling very weak.

Brief Answer: loosing weight Detailed Answer: Hello If he is taking the medicines religiously and still loosing weight, it indicates there may be an underlying cause factor for weight loss. Chronic infections or hormone abnormalities may be the cause. Therefore I advice you to consult a nearby physician who can rule out the cause of weight loss. The doctor may ask for blood tests, x-ray and ultrasonogram if needed. We can be able to treat him better after detecting the cause of weight loss. In the meanwhile, I would suggest to continue those medicines. Besides that, please give me name of companies of the medicines that you bought. swarna XXXXXXX malti ras XXXXXXX drugs Agni tundi Vati Baidyanath chyavanprash XXXXXXX Katujarishtam XXXXXXX I tried consulting the physician, he got his many tests done like blood sugar, thyroid, HIV, endoscopy. But, nothing came in that. I am planning to take him to some gastroentrologist for further diagnosis. We will continue the medicines. Thanks for your advice.
