What Causes Droopy Lower Eyelid Post Reconstructive Surgery?
Question: Hello,my name is XXXXXXX Long story short i had an accident 7 months ago,and had orbital floor and zygomatic fractures all over the left side of my face.
Did a reconstructive surgery 20 days after.
Now,almost 7 months after the surgery i am really depressed about my looks.
Surgery left me a bulgy eye(exophthalmos) and a droopy lower eyelid that makes my eye look a lot bigger than the right one(see pics please).
Plus my upper lip (where the incision be made) has shrinked a lot, leaving a curve that make my lip look thinner and uneven, showing a bit more tooth than the eight side.(see pics please).Because of that,i got speech issues, eating food and drinking water issues.Plus my facial expressions have changed as i feel the left side of my face numb, tight, like the grafts are pulling and holding my upper lip up.
I am so depressed and desperate i think i look like a monster and i don`t know what to do.
I think that a (lower eyelid tightening surgery) could help camouflage the exophtalmia of my eye..What do you think?
But i don`t know what to do with my lips.My primary surgeon said that release of the contractures where the incision made, may help but may not and may create even more scar tissue. Please help me doctor.
Thank you in advance

Brief Answer:
fillers for lips
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query and photographs.
Definitely there is shrinkage of upper lip but the shape of lip is maintained.
The best option is to go for fillers.
Special liquid is filled in the lips to make them more plum.
I don't think there is muuch problem with eyes.
Once the lip problem is solved you will look great.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you

Thank you for the fast response Dr XXXXXXX I really appreciate it.
Well pics do look better than reality,i don`t know why..Reality when i eat, speak or do facial expressions my mouth looks ugly because of that shrinkness, same as my eye,as my eyelid is lagging and the lower eyelid is being droopy.
The pictures ive sent you were like 4 months ago.Now the eylid is even worse, even more droopy.Eyelid tightening would help no?(plus how much would cost for a single lower eyelid surgery)
Do you think release of the contractures of the incision would help as well my lips?Because i can not understand the reason of the shrinkness. The incision is much more up than the area of the shrinkness.
If i go with fillers, would it ever go back to normal and if yes,how long is it going to last, what are the side effects and how much could it cost me?
Both fillers and eyelid surgery.
Excuse me for bombarding you with all these questions, gonna be my last ones but i am really desperate

Brief Answer:
results will be good
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear
I can understand your situation.
Fillers are of various types. The permanent one lasts for many years. I think it will be better to go with fillers instead of surgery. For eyelid definitely surgery is a good option. Don't worry there won't be any scarring.
I am sorry about the cost as it varies from country to country. I won't be able to tell you regarding cost in your country.
However these procedures are really good. Wishing you good health. Thank you
