What Causes Drowsiness After Eating?
Question: Dear Dr.
I am feeling drowsiness after eating anytime
I am feeling drowsiness after eating anytime
Brief Answer:
It is due to redistribution of the blood flow
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
The blood flow to the stomach and intestines increases after you eat in order to facilitate digestion. This leads to reduction of blood flow to your brain on the other side thereby makes you feel sleepy. Reducing your carbohydrate intake and taking smaller meals while you reduce the gaps between meals, should help in reducing the problem.

Brief Answer:
Get blood tested for HbA1c
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. I have gone through the mentioned reports. Although they do not convey much, it is likely that you are gradually developing neuropathy or nerve compression. Definitive comments can be given only after a thorough clinical examination but that is beyond the scope of this online discussion.
Although your blood sugar levels are normal, I would suggest you to get a blood for HbA1c tested. It gives a 3-monthly average of the blood sugar level and should help.
Let me know after you get the report and I would guide you further. In the meantime dietary control and regular exercise is very important. You also need to continue the medicines.
