What Causes Dry Eyes And Mouth Post Mirena Withdrawal?

default
Posted on Fri, 23 Jan 2015
Question: I have Mirena Hormone coil since March 2012. December 2012 I started to have dry eyes. It got worse and November 2013 I was unable to work. April 2014 I started on estradot 75 mg patch. It seemed to help, but I also developed very dry mouth. December 2015 I removed the Mirena and stopped the estradot. Now I feel really terrible. I still have very dry eyes and mouth. I have lowgrade fever, terrible headaches and feel very depressed. Question: how long before my hormones are back to normal so I can find out it all the hormone supplements caused my probems.? I'm 50 yrs old.

Brief Answer:
This appears to be non hormonal problem

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns with hormones and subsequent effects.

You need to wait for at least two normal menstrual cycles for effects of hormones to wean off and find out if it had to do with hormones.

Looking at your history, i don't think it has anything to do with hormones. Because you were normal between March 2012 to December 2012. If it were to be due to Mirena, You could have had the problems in April 2012 onwards.

This appears to be non hormonal problem.
