What Causes Dry Mouth After Dental Filling?
Question: hi, i use a cpap machine, im male 54, 210lbs,. 2 weeks ago i had to have a tooth filled becuase of an infection in my gums. I feel very blocked up in the morning and small parts of dried blood comes out when i blow my nose. No running blood. Since i had my tooth fixed i have had a very dry mouth. My tongue and roof of my mouth feels dry unless i drink water or chew gum. Could I have a sinus infection even though i dont feel unwell. i have no mouth ulcsre or anything else wrong. just the dry tingly feeling on my tongue. I also have a blocked feeling in my ears sometimes but it is not there all the time. I have been useing a cpap for over 5 years and I never had this illness before.

As per your clinical details, Most of the cpap users shows drying of nose, drying of oral cavity due to forceful air. Which causes sinusitis (Drying causes crusts, on removal bleeding occurs), Eustachian tube(tube connecting to middle ear and nose) dysfunction causes ear block sensation, drying of throat causes pharyngitis. It can happen at any time of usage (most often-winter season).
I suggest you to consult an ENT surgeon and get detailed ENT examination, otoscopy, audiometry ( Eustachian tube block), nasal endoscopy (sinusitis). Treatment can be started according to the investigations.
