What Causes Dry Mouth At Night And Discomfort Esophageal Area?
Question: Hi, I have a health concern that I am looking for a possible explanation for. I have been having a problem over the last 4 months on and off with a few symptoms. I have a dry mouth at night, I sometimes have a "buzzing, or very nerved" up feeling sensation all over, I guess you could call it anxious, and I feel tight chested and sick. I might add that the sick feeling is usually accompanied by my esophigal area where it meets the stomach having like a contracting or spazzing feeling that gets a little better if I put pressure with my hand on it. I also seem to have lots of stomach acid with it and gas. I take an acid reducer for that, it helps, but I still have the shaking, anxious feeling. I have not gone to see anyone about it yet, as I am just curious to see if someone here might have a clue as to what it might be before I go see a doctor
Brief Answer:
esophageal reflux or hiatal hernia
Detailed Answer:
Hello. I have been through your question and understand your concern.
In my point of view you might have esophageal reflux or a hiatal hernia. You should talk to your GP about scheduling a consult with a gastrohepatologist. You need a gastroscopy to better evaluate the condition. Upper GI series can also be done initially to rule out other esophageal conditions. Meanwhile you should have lighter and more frequent meals and sleep with ab additional pillow so that your head be inclined.
Hope this helps. Wish you the best health
