Question: I have dry red skin around my nose for about a week now, I have never had this before and at first I thought it was acne but it isn't going away and it is the only dry skin on my face because my skin is usually more oily than dry. I just went to the doctor for congestion and a cough but the skin around my nose popped up several days before I showed symptoms for being sick and the doctor said that it was mainly allergies so all they prescribed was some nose spray and cough syrup for night time. I didn't ask about the skin on my face at the doctor's because I forgot about it, is this related to my allergies? Is there any over the counter medicine I could use to treat this? Should I stop wearing makeup for a while until it heals?
I forgot to mention that I have been trying a lot of new vitamins lately. My boyfriend is a promoter for Mynt and Jeunesse and I recently started taking AM and PM Essentials and FINITI. I have stopped taking these since the rash or dry skin appeared so I am not sure if it is an allergic reaction to either of those but it hasn't improved since I have stopped taking them. However I do recall first noticing the dry skin around my nose the next day, it may or may not be correlated.

It seems like it is a little warmer in the areas where it is red compared to the rest of my face but I dont feel any pain. I have had a headache from what i think is sinus pressure from my allergies and my left ear has felt like it is under water for the past few days and is a little sore. Is that related? I went to cvs and got mg217 which is a cream that says it treats a lot of the symptoms i have and it seems to have gone down in size and it has really helped with the dryness but its been less than 24 hours that I have been using it and there are still dry scales peeling off those areas. Would an allergic reaction in this area last this long?
