What Causes Dry Throat And Feeling Of A Lump While Swallowing?
how do I know that its nitbtr epiglottis? how can I tell if its serious.
Do you have a fever?
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about thus dry throat and tight feeling that you have reported. I have reviewed your information and if there is no fever, this is unlikely to be epiglottitis. Also, if there is no difficulty breathing especially when the head is tilted to the back, then this is further support for it not being epiglottitis. If these are symptoms of recent onset, they are very non specific and I will recommend that you monitor only at this time. If it persists, then I will call for more examination but this is unlikely to reveal a problem in this area.
Let me know what you think and whether there are further concerns I must address at this time. Most importantly, update me on how you are feeling. Whether getting better, amount the same or getting worse. This is because most non specific symptoms often resolve spontaneously.
THis might need examination but I will not call an ER right now!

Hi,
You might need to get your throat examined to rule out any possible infections or identify and treat accordingly. For now, I have not seen any red flags that call for an immediate ER visit unless you cannot see your doctor in the next 2days.
I wish you well. Keep me posted. Do you have any pains when you swallow?
